  1. Ed Lee says:

isn’t “mad as a bag of ferrets” or a “box of frogs”?

although, this could be a peculiarly english thing. and i guess frogs could be a pejorative term for our french cousins…

  2. Judy Gombita says:

I read the first one too fast and thought it said “Older people are stinky.”

Had flashbacks to my job during university years at a “luxury retirement residence.” Most of the residents smelled fine–lavendar was a popular scent–but every now and then you’d catch a whiff of something…. It was actually a great place to work, and paid *a lot* more than minimum wage. Hmmm. I wonder how many of the residents are now sticky.

    Liber generationis Jesu Christi

“Lo, it is nearly 350 years that we and our fathers have inhabited this most lovely land, and never before has such terror appeared in Britain as we have now suffered from a pagan race, nor was it thought that such an inroad from the sea could be made. Behold, the church of St. Cuthbert spattered with the blood of the priests of God, despoiled of all its ornaments; a place more venerable than all in Britain is given as a prey to pagan peoples.”
