Beta for Web apps has always struck me as an odd thing. We aren't developing shrink wrap anymore. Simply release and refine. Everything is constantly being refined. Nothing is static. No disks. No shrink wrap.</description>

I don't think users are demanding faster, better, or different performance once they've become accustomed to the service, I think they just want the functionality they had when they started.

It's more like "taken for grantedness."

I like the rant though. I'd like to hear more.</description>
